Reservation Policies and Procedures

East Lake Shores™ is a condominium property. Condominiums are guided by the Condominium Act, 1998, as well as each condominium’s bylaws and rules, which are strictly enforced.

East Lake Shores™ reserves the right to revise, amend, or modify this policy, or our other policies and agreements at any time an in any manner.

Check-in time  is 4:00 p.m.  All guests must check in at the Welcome Centre upon arrival.  If arriving after 7:00 p.m., please arrange in advance with the Welcome Centre for a later check-in.

Check-out time is 10:00 a.m.  The cottage should be left in a reasonably clean condition, any garbage should be removed upon departure.  Additional fees may apply if cottage is left in an unacceptably dirty condition.  Return keys and parking permits to the front desk on departure.  Early check in / late check-out is subject to availability and additional fees.

Cottage Occupancy:  Most cottages accommodate up to six (6) guests, including children.  However, some cottages have a maximum occupancy of four (4).
If you arrive with more than the permitted number of guests, we reserve the right to deny access to the property.

The minimum age to rent a cottage is 25 years.

Payment Policy:  For bookings made 61 days or more before arrival, a deposit of 50% of the total reservation cost plus a $100.00 cleaning charge is required before the reservation can be fully confirmed.  The full balance is due 60 days before arrival and will be automatically charged to the credit card on file

For bookings made 60 days or fewer before arrival, 100% of the total reservation cost is required before the reservation can be confirmed.

Property Policy: All cottages are individually owned.  Please do not trespass on any cottage property.  No debris, garbage or other hazards are to be left in common areas. Water shall not be left running unless in actual use.  No pitching of any type of tent / gazebos and or inflatables.  No guns, fireworks, illegal drugs, no private BBQ grills as we provide these, electric grills, kerosene, or propane heaters or burn-style bug deterrents on the property.

Liability and Risk: The renter agrees to use and occupy the property at the renter’s own risk and hereby indemnifies the  owner / operator from any and all claims from injury or death of any person or for the loss of or damages to any property of the renter or renter’s agents, guests or other third parties.

Cancellation Policy:
For cancellations 61 days or more prior to arrival, a full refund of the initial deposit will be provided, less a $100 cancellation fee.
For cancellations 60 days or less prior to arrival, 50% of total paid will be refunded.
For cancellations 30 days or less prior to arrival there is no refund.
There are no refunds for no-shows or shortened stays

Extra Person Fees:  Extra charges apply for any reservation over four (4) adults per cottage.  The 5th and 6th occupant over 12 years of age are subject to an additional fee of $40.00 per person.This option is available to add at the “add on stage” of your reservation.
Registered guests are verified at check in, a penalty of $100.00 will apply if guests are not registered, the charge will be applied to your credit card used for the reservation.

Cleaning Fees: A cleaning fee of $100.00 will be charged for each cottage rental.  Our clean and safe protocols set out a range of hygiene standards for the cottages and public areas.

Resort Fee: Accommodations are subject to a Resort Fee of $42.00 per day or $252.00 per week in peak season and $35.00 per day or $210.00 per week in shoulder season. The resort fee is calculated in your total cottage charge.

Security Deposit:  A valid security deposit for incidental expenses of $500.00 will be required at check-in.  This can be made by credit card only and is refunded within 5 days after the cottage inspection at check-out. Inability to provide a security deposit may result in loss of reservation, without refund.

Taxes: The Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is 13% in Ontario. The Municipal Accommodation Tax of 4% on accommodation is Ontario wide. This tax applies to accommodation only.  Like the HST, the MAT is a government mandated tax that is not directed by or made to East Lake Shores, nor is it optional.

Pet Friendly Accommodation: Conditional Agreement

We understand that pets are an important part of family life. While we are confident that no issues will arise, please remember that an exception to our regular resort policies has been made in order to accommodate your pet. As such, we kindly ask that you take note and confirm your acceptance of the following policies:

  • Pets are not permitted on resort without a copy of up-to-date vaccination records filed and registered at our front desk. We recommend that you email a copy to us prior to your arrival.
  • Pets must be preregistered (maximum of 2) to ensure that a pet-friendly cottage is available.
  • Your dog must be on a leash at all times while outdoors on the resort. Please use the walking trails to walk your dog or the designated dog park and refrain as much as possible from using the open areas where cottages and common area parks are located.
  • Pets are not to be tied or chained outside during your stay and installation of any kind of cable or pulley runs are not permitted.
  • Excessive barking with not be tolerated.
  • You are of course obligated to follow a strict Poop and Scoop policy. There is a $100.00 fine if this policy is not followed.
  • Pets are not permitted in any common buildings such as pavilion, pools, etc.

  • A $500.00 penalty fee will be charged to your credit card if evidence of pets is found inside a non-pet accommodating cottage, on the porch, patio area or shared public space.
  • Please keep your cottage as clean as possible. Although an additional cleaning fee has been added to your cottage, there may be further charges if your cottage is found to require extra cleaning and/or if any damages to the cottage are found
  • Dogs that are aggressive are not permitted on the resort
  • At this time, the following dog breeds are not permitted on the resort: Akita, Alaskan Malamute, Chow, Doberman Pinscher, German Shepherd, Husky, Pit Bull, Canario, Rottweiler, Wolf Hybrid

Onsite Dog Park Policies: 

  • Dogs must be on leash when walking to, entering and exiting the park
  • Dog owners must be present with their dogs inside the park
  • Dogs must be removed from the dog park at the first sign of aggression
  • The Poop and Scoop policy applies within this area as well.

Important

Should our office receive any viable complaints regarding your pet by other guests or cottage owners, authorization for your pet to remain on the resort may be revoked and alternative arrangements would need to be made.

Thank you for your cooperation and we sincerely wish you a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. All guests staying with pets are required to complete and sign this agreement confirming that you agree to abide by our pet policy and designated pet friendly areas of the resort.

Vehicles, Boats and Parking:  All vehicles must be registered and display a valid parking pass on the dashboard when on the property or could be subject to parking enforcement.  There is a limit of 2 vehicles per cottage.  Parking is only permitted in designated areas.  Cottages with private parking spaces can accommodate 2 vehicles and cottages with group parking have space for 1 vehicle.  There is overflow parking at the front of the resort.  Electric vehicles cannot be charged on-site and penalties will be applied if found.

No motorized personal watercraft or other motorized boat, or all-terrain vehicle shall be brought on to any portion of the common elements.

Please drive slowly around the resort and obey posted speed limits.

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are in effect Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am and on Friday and Saturdays from 11:00 pm to 8:00 am.  Guests creating excessive disturbances or noise or behaving in any way that may be adversely affect the quality and or enjoyment of other guests and or owners may be asked to leave prematurely without reimbursement, or a penalty fine could be applied to your credit card.

Lost & Found: Items left on-site will be held in the Welcome Centre for 90 days.  If not collected within 90 days of check-out, they will be donated to a local charity or disposed of without further notice.

Garbage / Recycling: There is a designated waste area in the Meadows, for household garbage and recycling.  Recycling needs to be sorted.  Curbside collection is not available.

Smoking / Vaping: No smoking or vaping is permitted inside cottages (including screened in porches) or in common areas.  If evidence is found of smoking in those areas, there will be a $500.00 penalty charged to your credit card.  We ask that you bring your own receptacle for any ashes or butts while smoking offsite.  Please do not put ashes or butts in firepits or on the grounds of cottages or the resort.

Damage to Property: Renters and guests must at all times be in compliance with the condominium’s declaration, bylaws and rules in effect at the time.  Guests will be responsible for paying any damages caused directly or indirectly by themselves or their guest during their stay.  Your credit card will be charged accordingly for any damaged or missing items.
