Cancellation Policy

For cancellations 61 days or more before arrival, a full refund will be provided.

• For cancellations 31-60 days before arrival, a 50% refund will be provided.

• For cancellations 30 days or less before arrival there are no refunds.

We offer Trip Cancellation Insurance through RentalGuardian. Please see this website in order to determine eligibility or purchase insurance to protect your stay against unforeseen personal circumstances or weather delaying travel: https://eastlakeshores.rentalguardian.com/

Can I check-in earlier than 4pm?

Unfortunately, as much as we would love to accommodate this, please do not plan to arrive at the resort any earlier than 4pm to enter the cottage. We have upwards of 40+ cottage turning over each day and need the time given to clean and inspect each cottage.

Please note, we do not allow access to the cottage for use in any way until 4pm, including food storage. No exceptions.

Can I extend my 10AM check-out time?

Due to the limited turnover time between guests, our 10AM check-out time is firm. Any guests onsite after their 10AM check-out time will be charged an additional $50 every 30 minutes.

Can I get my Sandbanks pass early?

Yes. You can pick up your Sandbanks Pass as early as 12PM on your day of arrival.

Can more than six (six) guests stay at a cottage?

No. Cottages cannot accommodate more than six (6) guests due to municipal regulations. This includes children.

Where can I park?

Each cottage has a designated parking space, either located directly beside the cottage, or in a shared lot.

Is there additional parking available?

Yes, we have an overflow lot beside the Welcome Centre for up to two vehicles.

What amenities does the resort offer?

We offer the following amenities: Family Pool, Adult Pool, Fitness Centre, Lodge, Beach House – Kayaks, Canoes, etc., Dog Park, Playground, Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, Bocci Ball, Shuffleboard, Woodland Trails, and Pocket Parks – Fire Pits.

Do the resort amenities cost extra?

Our amenities come at no extra cost.

Can I bring day guests to the resort?

Yes. Day guests are welcome to visit but must park their vehicles in the overflow parking area beside the Welcome Centre. You must meet your visitors at the entry gate to let them in and stay with them at all times while they’re on resort property.

Can I bring my RV?

No. The resort does not allow RVs to be parked on resort property and will be towed.

Can I bring my boat?

Yes, but you will need to park in the overflow parking area and ensure that your license plate is registered with Welcome Centre Staff. The resort does not have a boat launch onsite.

Are there any EV chargers available?

There are no EV chargers available at the resort. The closest public charging stations are located at: 1. Crystal Palace: 375 Picton Main St, Prince Edward, ON K0K 2T0 2. Bloomfield Municipal Parking: 257 Bloomfield Main, Bloomfield, ON, K0K 1G0 3. Wellingston Community Centre: 111 Belleville Street, Wellington, ON, K0K 1G0

Is the tap water safe to drink?

Yes,

What are the pool hours?

Family Pool: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Lifeguard coverage on weekends only until June 19).
Adult Pool: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Are the pools heated? 

Both the adult pool and family pool are heated.

What is the age restriction for the adult pool?

18 years or older.

Will the pool be open during my stay?

We try our best to keep the pools open for as long as the weather allows. However, we cannot guarantee that pools will be open in early spring or late fall.

Is there a hot tub?

No.

Is there a lifeguard on duty?

Yes, however we kindly ask that you remain mindful of all safety guidelines. Children should never be left unattended near the water, regardless of lifeguard presence.

Are the pools chlorinated?

Yes, our pools are treated with chlorine and tested regularly.

Are there laundry facilities?

Each cottage has an in-unit washer/dryer with detergent provided.

Can I have a fire?

Yes, as long as we’re not under a Fire Ban and that you are using the designated firepits. Fires are not permitted under any other circumstances.

Are there firepits?

We have communal firepits spread across the resort in our Pocket Parks for guest use.

Can I book a firepit?

Firepits cannot be booked. They are first come, first serve and can be used communally.

Is there beach access?

Yes! We have a private sand beach.

How far is the beach from my cottage?

All cottages are within walking distance from the beach, with some cottages being further than others depending on their location within the resort.

Is swimming permitted at the beach?

Absolutely. We welcome you to enjoy the beach; however, we kindly ask that you remain mindful of all safety guidelines and local advisories during your visit.

Is it a sand beach?

Yes, it’s a sand beach.

Does my rental come with a Sandbanks Pass?

A Sandbanks Pass, or Daily Vehicle Permit, is a required permit for vehicle entry into Sandbanks Provincial Park, covering day-use activities like beach access.  Please note: While a pass is included in your cottage reservation, you’ll still need to reserve your visit directly with the Park in advance to ensure entry. 

How do I make a reservation at Sandbanks Beach using the Pass?

Can I bring my pet?

We are a pet friendly resort, but not all cottages allow pets. Pet friendly cottages can be located by using the “Pets Allowed” filter in the search bar of the booking page and in the notes section of individual listings. 

Is there a pet fee?

There’s a pet fee of $150 + tax for up to 2 dogs.

Is there a dog park?

Yes. Ask our Welcome Centre staff for directions!

Can I bring a cat or bird?

Currently only dogs are fully cleared for our pet-friendly properties. Cats and birds will be assessed on a case by case basis at the discretion of the homeowner. Be sure to contact us!

Do dogs need to be leashed at the resort?

Dogs must be leashed at all times except for in designated off-leash areas (dog park, your cottage, etc.)

What local wildlife should I be aware of?

Mosquitos, ants, and the occasional wasp make their home in Prince Edward County. If you spot a wasp nest, please let us know. Dogs should be inspected for ticks after a visit to the woods.

If you’re lucky, you might see: deer, rabbits, porcupines, chipmunks, frogs, fish. All are harmless. 

Can I fish at the resort’s beach?

You are welcome to fish, but we ask that you walk upshore to maintain a safe distance from any swimmers.

Is there a BBQ I can use?

Yes, each cottage comes with a private BBQ and a propane. If you run out of propane please let us know!

Is there a County tour available?

Yes! Pick up is from the East Lake Shores Welcome Centre and leaves every Tuesday at 11AM. You can book seats here: https://eastlakeshores.ca/county-tour/
